| Brian Ernst - Live music 9/27/08 6-8pm |
|
Brian Ernst "one man band" will be performing. At first, you'll think Brian Ernst's music is a combination of blues and folk, mixed in with a little hip-hop. Before you know it though, you realize that his music and style is in a category of its own.
His music is hard to niche, likely because his inspiration has come from so many different sources....traveling, bad decisions, conversations, Mike Perkins...just to name a few. He's known as 'the one-man band' embracing his acoustic guitar, one that he's adorned with his white-out art, his yidaki (didgeridoo), a tambourine, harmonica, and then there's the leather suitcase. That's right, a 1940's leather suitcase provides a unique percussion contribution to his music as he uses a kick drum pedal to bang against the hollow case to the beat of the tune. His vocals are expressive and his lyrics thought-provoking. He sings his soul out with a street-smart, natural, and impromptu quality, that communicates his inspiration on a one-to-one level. Come on down, feel the vibe and enjoy some sweet coffee love from barefoot coffee roasters |
