Artists Statement
I am fascinated with the both the act and process of painting. I enjoy all of the variables and unknowns that can occur in a seemingly simple process. I enjoy the challenges brought to my original ideas and intuitions from an errant brushstroke, a drip of paint or an instant decision to rearrange the composition. I enjoy both the simplicity and the complex and infinite possibilities in using basic shapes and lines. I enjoy working with a medium and surface that are alive, where each piece has it's own unique personality. I have witnessed this combination of oil and raw canvas bleed, breathe and mutate and am intrigued by this personification.

A Salt Lake City favorite, the Joshua Payne Orchestra thrives on the
spirit of the times and is proud to be a part of the local scene.
The JPO is heavily influenced not only by jazz, but also hip hop, rock,
and pop. Their eclectic repertoire features original music as well as
hits from Little Wayne, Metallica, and Elliot Smith. This performance
features New York heavyweight Steve Lyman on drums and the wonderful
up-and-coming Jake Rozenzweig on upright bass. Joshua plays guitar
through a custom made amplifier that uses old military vacuum tubes
from World War II.

Bevalo is now featuring the artwork of four amazing local artists from the Captain Captain Studios (captaincaptain.org), plus 1 additional local artist.
Featured artists are Trent Call, Tessa Lindsey, Steve Larson, Trent Alvey, and Susie Stovall.

Influenced heavily by contemporary hits, the Joshua Payne Trio has a unique, surprising sound.
Drummer Daniel Day integrates drum and bass, hip hop, and house beat stylings with extensive jazz training and experience. Bassist Dave Bowen is the youngest member of the band and has an amazing spunkiness and enthusiasm for music. Guitarist Joshua Payne is extremely creative and is always searching for new sounds and techniques. Joshua has performed all across the world including recent performances in New York and Japan.

Eric Anthony 8-9 pm
Eric Anthony is a singer, songwriter, guitarist currently performing in Park City, Utah. His recent accomplishments include writing and performing the title song for the movie "Down and Derby", an original song for Vin Diesel's "Wheelman" video game and he sang over 40 songs for Disney's Ultimate Band video game. He was recently chosen as one of the featured artists on "The After After Party" CD produced by McDonalds. Eric is in the studio recording an album that will be available in early 2009.
